I used to read and love your blog, but recently I've noticed a bias towards OpenAI since you were involved with the ChatGPT-5 prerelease.

Little bit unrelated, but it is super annoying that this site breaks back button in browser.

Can confirm. I hope that they enable it before the Testflight build expires.

For privacy aware people it can be important that an open source and well trusted extension is available.

Even if one does not have a positive view of Elon Musk, the catching up of Grok to the big three (Google, OpenAI, Anthropic) is incredible. They are now at the same level aproximately.

uBlock is open source. Some people might object AdGuard Russian foundation, but they have distanced themselves from the conflict and employ people in Ukraine.

Yes, but adblocking options on iOS are way more limited so it is more notable.

I would put them on the fourth after Google, OpenAI and Anthropic. Still the best open weight llm.

They probably have same costs for every user. They would be losing money if they charged significantly less for users in developing countries.

I much prefer Gemini over chapgpt, but they recently introduced a limit of 100 messages a day on a pro plan :( aistudio is probably still fine

Any plans for websockets? Neon supports transactions over them.

Do you support http or websocket connections like https://github.com/neondatabase/serverless ? In my experience neon is ultra fast that way in serverless environments like 1-5ms per query with network roundtrip.

I’ve loved Neon and now I’m a little worried. Are there any alternatives?

I am all for open source, but where do you see benchmarks that conclude that it's just equivalent?

I've just tested it and while the ubo extension can be installed, it does not work at all. I use brave browser and nextdns to block ads on ios now.

I've used gemini for it's large context window before. It's a great model. But specifically in this benchmark it has always scored very low. So I wonder what has changed.

It is, but in this benchmark gemini scored very poorly in the past.
