He's lucky. If I remember correctly, Microsoft did something similar a while back, asking how much it would take to transfer a domain they considered infringing to them. Upon receiving the reply, they turned around and claimed the guy was

Unless you have a lawyer on retainer and don't mind fighting an ongoing legal battle, I'd do everything they demand, including transferring the domain immediately. You could try to negotiate, but I'd imagine they have absolutely no problem

For a beginner, I'd say learn Rails. The other frameworks are nice in their own ways but Rails has the largest community by far. PHP is, as others have mentioned, just a language, and while there are good frameworks for it (CakePHP as you

I'm familiar with both, but it's a little difficult to make a recommendation with so little context. Why do you want to learn one of these languages? Is there a specific reason / project or do you just want to "learn to code"?

I'm guessing what happened was something like the following: - They asked him what he did for work (as they pretty much always do at a border crossing, in my experience). - He said he developed software. - They asked what kind of software.

I think if you learn Rails, build an app in it, and open-source it on GitHub or similar, that would be fairly strong evidence that you know what you're doing. If I were in your position, I would go to the source ( http://www.uscis.gov/ )

Another post saying that if I don't have a highly populated Github and a well-trafficked blog, I'm worthless as a candidate to a startup. Good to know; my employer will be disappointed. Nearly all of my work is behind the screen of an NDA.

Under current laws, wouldn't the way the Terms of Service are presented be considered a contract signed under duress? I mean, they are saying that if you don't sign the contract, they'll kill you, which is kind of the textbook definition o
