Like in all things, risk can come from all over the place. Microsoft recently decided to cut off a foreign military from Azure under pressure from Microsoft employees, because that military's use of the platform was in violation of the

That isn’t necessarily bad… but the dogma normal people get from the index crowd is that they have less risk and low cost. Since we’re living in an era that looks more like 1905, there’s alot of skew and the public doesn’t get access. In th

The market as a whole is being driven by less than a dozen stocks. VTI is one third tech. Many people are not as safe or diversified as they think they are.

That's a an unimaginative assertion for this risk. How do you track the chain of custody of your servers? Do you sample them at random to ensure they aren't compromised? Bloomberg never backed away from their story about Chinese i

I don’t think any credible person is saying CO2 is dangerous to life. The changes to the climate can disrupt things like ocean currents to disastrous effect. Atmospheric gas won’t kill anyone, we’ll kill each other over access to resources

I think there are some differences in approach and philosophy. Some are probably real and essential and some are more culture in fire service. There are most certainly online discussions at great length on the topic.

What does the contract or the law say? The “Feds asked nicely” doesn’t change the law. I worked for a company that processed state income tax data. Improper disclosure was a felony punishable by 5 years in prison. Regulating interstate comm

I’m on a city e&a board. A couple of PE groups have rolled up the remaining fire truck manufacturers. 3 companies own 75% of the market. This is a well known issue… Google away and there’s lots to read about. I know nothing about cement

There's also a bunch of PE money in the space for specialized vehicles, leading to the usual consequences. Fire trucks are the canonical example. Shittier trucks that take 3x longer to get and are dramatically less reliable.

We did have depraved and corrupt government with Jackson and Grant. We didnt have the massive military impact in both terms of economics and power. The long game is going to be brutal, and the country bumpkins will suffer the most.

Remember, the AI doesn’t create anything, so you add risk potentially to the patient outcome and perhaps make advancement more difficult. My late wife had to have a stent placed in a vein in her brain to relieve cranial pressure. We had to

I think there’s a difference between tiny and small. There are a ton of tiny companies that essentially buy services from fortune 50s and lease from big real estate firms. Businesses with 50-100 people are pretty rare compared to the past

It’s really easy: it’s all about revenue maximization. Honestly, people fly too much. I’m 6’5 with a 24” shoulder - flying economy is painful for me and the poor soul stuck next to me. I don’t need to fly for business and am fortunate to ha

The only gotcha with the zip code reverse lookup is that there is a many to one relationship between city and zip. Look at Albany, NY (12201-12209) in the list you posted. There are a few with two cities, and iirc there are at least 3 other
