True enough, if you're targeted it's not going to help very much. However, like outrunning a bear, you only need to be harder to catch than the guy behind you.

I once had an HTC HD2, and while WM6.5 wasn't very good, the xda-developers community loves this device. I was able to try out all sorts of Android builds on this device, as well as getting WP7 sort-of working on it. Truly amazing. My o

Is Apple's growth in the tablet space eventually going to put a bullet in the traditional PC? Call me naive, but I have a really hard time seeing the traditional PC going away. Tablets just aren't cheap or versatile enough to replace PCs

I've heard this, and I've said it, and I wonder if there's an answer. Are we allowed to complain about the trivial? I get a chuckle reading reddit.com/r/firstworldproblems, but some of those things do annoy me. I don't go around complai

I'm very surprised they were able to develop a PSP Phone. I'm very surprised that they did it at all. In my opinion it creates a confusing story for PSP owners looking to upgrade. NGP or PSP Phone? Sometimes I wonder if the two teams we

The problem is we've given up long-term benefits in exchange for short-term ones, and it's not clear where that's going to lead us. Steam makes my life super convenient, but what happens if I move to a country with super-aggressive bandwidt

Even bits on physical media are slowly being made un-lendable. EA's "Project Ten Dollar" is an attack at the used games market, and a side affect of this is that you can't lend the whole game to a friend. All Steam games require you to have

Maybe, but if I were twitter and wanted to discourage 3rd-party clients, changing authentication methods to one that is harder to use is a really roundabout way of accomplishing that goal.

FYI, this game crashed on me at launch (W2K8 R2). Setting the exe to run under WinXP compat mode made it work. It's also devilishly hard. Dual 1-back is easy, but Dual 2-back is surprisingly difficult. I think it'd be fun to get good at

There are certainly company men in the, ahem, company, but one of the problems is that MS makes so many tools that are good enough that using open source tools is really hard to do. Internally, we're told to use MS technology whenever possi

Also IMO the ActiveState did alot to make perl & Python popular. Only in the last 10 years or so did ActivePython become really useful. In the last 90's it seemed (in my mind, at least) to play second fiddle to ActivePerl.
