Castle Crashers is and old-school beat them up with very nice art. Which is a derivative of Double Dragon (and probably something earlier), but it's a fantastic game nevertheless.

This is a circular argument (or some sort of thing like that), but if you ever find yourself at a *nix command line prompt and need to edit a file, you can be certain that vim will be available. Basic familiarity with it can be helpful. Pe

Waze has a "Switch Off" command, although that seems to make sense since it's a way to stop running GPS. Maybe they got a pass since ":q" is a basic Vim command. People are going to type it - what should they do instead? Nothing?

FWIW, I hit the activation limit in WinXP, and the activation dialog had a phone number and some numbers I had to read to the person on the line. A few minutes later everything was fine. (I'm a MS employee but I was doing this at home with

Air Canada's requirements specify that they require gov't issued ID, but they don't specify which gov't. Would a gate agent be able to identify and verify the authenticity of an arbitrary ID card from a distant country? Probably not - I

most of what gets shared on Facebook is fairly innocuous, if not utterly mundane. It usually is, until it isn't. By then, it's too late.

The easiest of which is simply to not aggressively share knowledge. When you're stack ranked against your peers, I wonder if people ask themselves, "why should I help you , when all I'm doing is making it harder for myself to get a bonus

Don't get me wrong, I do love DLC that adds to the game world and extends the life of the game. I've bought DLC like this in the past, except they were called "expansion packs". Having never played LoL I can't really say one way or another

It angers me to see this same logic applied to video games. From a business perspective it might make sense, but playing a video game that functions this way (like FarmVille et al), leaves a sour taste in my mouth. I've tried a few of them

No one likes making mistakes or missing opportunities, but even with your mistakes and missed opportunities, you're smart enough to recognize your mistakes and missed opportunities and learn from them. Maybe even because of your mistakes.

As someone who hardly ever uses a RDBMS (I'm in QA and most of my "work coding" is test automation and/or tool work), what happens when you try to deal with data validity constraints? In .NET-land, do you put a try-catch around it and bubb

Not to discount your possibility, but interestingly enough it's possible there are bugs in the mapping data. See http://testoptimal.com/ref/starwest-2006-mbt-tutorial.pdf , page 99 for a neat example. It's sort of ironic, I remember readin

Very interesting thanks for sharing that. I'm not an OS X user so I didn't know about that one. As a Windows user this makes me jealous. I've dabbled in Linux (Arch) but I'm not aware of a similar feature. Does one exist?

Some rhythm games have a built-in calibration tool you can use - it'll offset the video/audio by a certain amount to compensate for HDTV lag. I know Guitar Hero/Rock Band have one, maybe WiiFit does too?
