the issue I run into (and maybe there is a quick solution) but when I work on a TS React project and want to add a library that does not have Typings definitions, i get in a world of hurt. trying to quickly add my own typings or fix TS erro

I think a more correct title would have been "date storage antipatterns" storing in UTC is fine as long as your clients are time zone aware and can convert to local and send timestamps with time zone so that the server can convert
