Pfft. You want a citation, go make a vaguely anti-GMO comment on a major sub. Include keywords. See what happens.

It mightn't be as substantive or civil, but I've learned more from this HN thread than most. Reading some of the comments here confirmed for me that this woman is on to something. People are claiming that there's more to the

For someone who is apparently considering what life without nation states would be like for the very first time, you're remarkably confident in their necessity.

That fraction of the world is significant though. You're talking about millions of people who have so much less than nothing that they will have to work for years just to get to $0. With all our technology, our wealth, our sophistica

>Firm inequality is an expression of many of these factors. Exactly. It's not the cause, like this article is claiming. Considering that most people consistently grossly under-estimate the divide between the wealth 'classes

Alright, I'll do my best. Your ignorant comment about people's "stupid life decisions" (ever hear of a thing called "bad luck"?) suggests I'll be pissing into the wind, but alright. Most mainstream economi

Er, mainstream economists. Considering their record, mainstream economists seem far more anti-intellectual than most of their 'bashers'. Though your handle suggests this might be hard for you to swallow. Also, wage slaves do exist

It does seem a little bit irrational to state that immigration is being used by corps to distract us, while ignoring the positive aspects of it. Also, saying that people are naturally tribalistic, because of evolution, fails to take into ac

I don't doubt that firm inequality is a factor worth looking at. But, the article claims, with the flimsiest of evidence, that "the rising gap in pay between firms accounts for the large majority of the increase in income inequali

You are correct, thank you for the clarification. I remain convinced that CEOs of Google and Goldman make hundreds of times more money than their average workers, and that if you're going to publish an article that makes such a large c

I think you've missed the point, a couple times. First, the EPI weren't trying to find the "average worker to CEO" pay, they were examining trends to determine how well the top 1 and 0.1 percent were doing in 2014. Secon
