I've been using and contributing to Virtualfish, which replicates nearly all of virtualenvwrapper's functionality. Highly recommended: https://github.com/adambrenecki/virtualfish

"Why are we doing this now? It's a statement of confidence." Not desperation, but confidence. Riiiiiight. Am I the only one who's not buying this?

I don't have enough experience with Jekyll to answer that question, but I haven't found Pelican to be missing anything I've wanted to do so far. (^_^)

Glad to see Jekyll development resume -- bravo! For those who prefer Python over Ruby, be sure to check out Pelican, version 3.2 of which was recently released. Bountiful themes, plugins, and a very active community: http://getpelican.com/

Have you considered a free plan for open-source projects? Allowing folks to record screencasts and contribute them as video tutorials to help new users get up and running on open-source software would be a huge boon to many a project. This

That's certainly been requested and is coming in the next version, hopefully to be released sometime this month. Thanks to the hard work done by Bruno, one of the other dev team members, you will soon be able to override pages by specifying

Pelican's default theme includes explicit thanks, and a link, in the footer of every single page -- which is certainly more noticeable than attribution inside a CSS file.

As a member of the Pelican dev team, I think I speak for all of us when I saw we were thrilled to see such a high-profile site running on Pelican. The folks at kernel.org were even kind enough to mention it on their new site: https://www.k

Perhaps the Chime folks would be kind enough to write a ZNC module to allow for that type of integration: http://wiki.znc.in/Modules

It's certainly an improvement over what otherwise currently happens: unless there's a recall, we are all driving "beta" cars with bugs that never get patched. At least this way there is an easy method for correcting software defects.

Regarding the first point, which OS X systems are you referring to? The default PATH on Mountain Lion definitely contains /usr/local/bin, as you can see here: /usr/bin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/sbin:/usr/local/bin With respect, I don't share the view

I commend the RethinkDB folks for supporting Mac OS X explicitly. However, the .pkg installer, while handy for folks that prefer that installation method, installs to /usr/bin/ and /usr/share/ -- areas that are traditionally reserved for sy

I find it interesting that there is no coverage in Santa Monica, arguably the most tech-centric section of Los Angeles. Plus, requiring folks to use Facebook to get a Karma account is a very unfortunate decision.

Building a lightweight notebook is all about balance and sacrifice. You can't have it all. The reason that the MacBook Air is so popular is that Apple managed to hit the sweet spot, balancing weight, battery life, performance, and design. T
