Diluted, yes. Eliminated, no. See other comments in this thread about the "cliff" -- once you're past it, it's harder to get screwed over.

Double-check how soon your options will start vesting before you sign-on, so that you don't get screwed over by something like this. (Also, btw, it's "moot", not "mute")

Perhaps this is inevitable. A necessary step for Twitter to stay alive. But then maybe instead we should be asking ourselves what's next? What's after Twitter? Twitter (et al.) have proven how valuable this kind of service is, but also that

Wow, thanks. Was this always there, or did it come as part of the recent redesign? I remember searching the source of the previous project pages for anything resembling what should have been a launch date, and couldn't find it anywhere. May

As soon as I realized how difficult it was to find a comprehensive list of failed Kickstarter projects, I frantically began building a private database of them so that I have the data if I ever need it. Information on failed and cancelled p

As others have alluded to, Chrome for Windows is making fonts on this page impossibly hard to read. I'm beginning to think that rendering horribly in Chrome for Windows is the Internet's latest "Built on a Mac" badge.

Hey! Your product looks really cool! (Playing around with the demo.) A bit of unsolicited feedback -- the very first thing I did when I landed on your homepage was groan at the Lobster typeface. ( http://www.mishes.com/articles/lobster-font

Still, I wish they'd provide a bit more information. Do we know what kind of event likely caused 1889's melting? Would it, similarly, have happened in such short a span of time, or due to a similar weather event? It's still hard to dismiss

Hard to say for sure with the information provided. While there is evidence that this has happened before, this degree of melting in such a short span of time is certainly "unprecedented" for as long as we've been observing, and it may well

Not sure which version of EF those benchmarks are using, or how representative it is. For what it's worth, the EF team has been focusing on performance for EF5 and is making some promising improvements: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/adonet/archi

Previous discussion: http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=3794885 I like the idea a lot. I'm not a fan of most of the themes, especially the one being used for the site itself. But the classic Bootstrap theme is starting to look quite plai

Maybe it's just me, but I think apps like this need (NEED) to focus on tablets / touch screens if they really want to stand a chance. Don't get me wrong. It's an impressive tool and I'm sure it will work for a lot of people. But there is no

I use tmux too, but I prefer the way vim handles panes. When I'm in mental-vim mode, it's easier for me to not have to jump out to thinking in tmux terms when editing several files.

I wouldn't say nobody else. (IMO 37signals gets these things right because that's their business. Getting these things right. When they don't get things right, they rework it until they get things right.)

This title sounds so indignant. 37signals can do what they want. I'm sure they'll give existing users plenty of warning & time to migrate content elsewhere before they shut down these services for good. For now, sign-ups are closed. Car

Tadalist and Writeboard both say: `But don’t worry — any [x] you already created here at [y].com will continue to work` Which is nice. Of the above, the only thing I might take issue with is the stranding of legacy Basecamp customers. Why d

I appreciate that the headline on HN has been toned-down from the original. The word "bioterrorism" definitely doesn't apply to what may be going on here.

Ah, I see, by "scaleable" you mean that it can literally be scaled to different sizes on the page. (For HN, an uncommon use of that word.)

A friend once complained to me about how all of the "unlimited" plans are secretly capped (at, say, 3GB), which makes it very frustrating for anyone who would regularly go over the cap, as there are often no other options. He told me he wou

That’s correct. Customers will not have to re-enter credit cards or do anything. This is pain free for customers. This is good. Sortfolio may not have been worth the $480,000 otherwise. I imagine that requiring customers to re-enter their

Again, a total long shot. But I was thinking both in terms of augmented-reality (Google Goggles) and bigger transparent glass-like displays (Samsung Smart Window). But whatever it is, it would only catch on if Apple releases it.
