For only one million web pages, the job would likely be quite cheap. The Common Crawl corpus is hundreds of millions of pages and, given the right setup, only takes $10 to $100 to process, especially for relatively light entity extraction.

As Google Analytics is "self reporting" (i.e. your browser tells the GA servers what it's doing) you can avoid reporting or erroneously report whatever you'd like. It'd likely be easier for you just to block Google

You hit the nail on the head. Google Analytics is on a substantial proportion of the Internet. 65% of the top 10k sites, 63.9% of the top 100k, and 50.5% of the top million[1]. My own results from a research project I did using the Common C

It actually isn't a compiler error in Go to deviate from gofmt's specification* but it is a widely enforced rule in the community. Most major Go projects use gofmt and any Go code, such as the built-in libraries, are gofmt'ed

I quite like Bret Victor and points he has made previously, but this seems entirely aimed at inspiring a flamewar. I'd love to have a discussion around this, but I don't feel that will happen due to the way the message was portray

There are two primary issues here: the prevalence of Google Analytics and the unencrypted nature of the majority of websites. Google Analytics is on a substantial proportion of the Internet. 65% of the top 10k sites, 63.9% of the top 100k,
