Per https://news.ycombinator.com/formatdoc , put it in angle brackets. Maybe this works? < https://docs.oracle.com/en/java/javase/17/docs/api/java.base... >

Scroll down! The homepage shows examples of ADTs, purity tracking (yay!) and pattern matching on purity (oooooh), effect polymorphism (oooooh again), type classes, HKTs, and an embedded Datalog DSL.

I guess I'm just more willing to accept solutions of the form "recognise the mistake we made, and create a whole new API that is more correct" than they were.

I have spent weeks of work time trying to track down DateTimes, work out their intended semantics, replace them with a user-defined type, and fix the resulting fallout when it turned out that people were relying on bugs. Unclear who thoug

This is, of course, addressed in the article and associated comments - namely its second quote and the thread https://astralcodexten.substack.com/p/lavenders-game-silexan... .

You know "veteran" does mean "someone with a lot of experience in something", right? In non-US countries that's even the primary meaning. https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/

I don't think you're actually arguing with me. I claim that keto doesn't work for everyone, and so apparently do you.

One of the explicit goals of gov.uk is to be maximally accessible, and that includes for people accessing the Internet on a potato or who have a metered connection.

I don't know if you've ever used gov.uk, but I have literally no complaints about it (other than a few content-level ones, which the web design team can't help with). It's honestly a brilliant site.

Long term endorphins from not eating?! Maybe once, the first time you ever successfully don't eat, but surely it stops being a surprise after the first time.

I'm pretty sure the article's numbers were UK ones, by the way - I certainly knew the UK Domino's large pizza number from personal experience, and the photos of e.g. peanut butter were ones I recognise from UK supermarkets.

All I know is that I couldn't think of anything other than carbs, and started crying because I wanted carbs so much, and then when I ate carbs it was blissful and I stopped thinking about carbs and I stopped crying. I don't know w

I can barely stick to an only-Huel diet (one of the competitors you speak of) for even a few days. It does sound like the potato diet may be uniquely interesting for someone who is desperate enough.

I got bad news for you: I know multiple people who lost weight for two months (as anyone can on literally any calorie-restriction diet) but simply couldn't follow it for much longer than that. I myself stopped being keto a couple of da
