For those of you who aren't aware, that Canabalt game that was posted on HN earlier was written with Flixel.

Yeah. I'm actually completely in love with my AAO (and I even store my music on it, since I got a HD). There's nothing I need a full blown computer for, and if I really need the screen estate and keyboard, then I just use external ones. I'v

It's a cleaner syntax for writing jQuery functions. As you can see, it's translated into jQuery code.

I find this a fascinating area of research, however a prediction of my dad's always comes to mind. "A computer as intelligent as a human will take 18 years to 'program.'"

Yes, but Google seems to spend more time acquiring startups, so I think his expertise isn't wasted there.

I'm continually surprised by the number of people who haven't figured out the recipe for a well-spent life only has two ingredients: passion and hard work.

This article brought back haunting memories of Cuil. Pity, because I wouldn't mind more competition in the search market, particularly since Google has gotten less relevant for programming related queries.

I find the "go back to reddit" or "go back to digg" posts particularly ironic. If you are going to criticize those sites, then perhaps you shouldn't contribute to the degradation of this site in the same post. That said, I was recently guil

Right, because you couldn't have users both post news stories on Twitter and have the pages be indexed by Google. That's simply not possible.

This has been said before, but bears repeating. I like reading articles on Google News more than on most "non-aggregator" news sites just because Google News makes the news readable. What a lot of content creators don't seem to understand i

After a quick look through this seems like a good resource. The most important things are simply to 1) be part of the community, 2) listen to the community, 3) give the community responsibility.
