There's also the added benefit of being able to support users without JavaScript, which includes a large portion of iOS/Android users. http://stephanierieger.com/a-plea-for-progressive-enhancemen...

Along with the right-click menu, I plan on creating keyboard shortcuts for text stylization (Ctrl+B for bold, etc). This would allow one to bold/unbold in the process of writing without touching their mouse, as well as to easily bold select

I'm happy that somebody recognized this :) It was a huge pain to mold the contenteditable element into a polished wiki editor, but I'm pretty proud of the results.

That is a description of a historical event, not an original work :) Like I said, mass collaboration works for some things, like recording facts. However, if you wanted to write about a fictional nuclear disaster for a video game you're dev

I figured that letting people write without an account was not worth the added complexity, especially for a minimum viable product. You are free to look at any of the published wikis; the interface for writing a wiki looks almost exactly th

Sorry about the overload; this is my first web app and I can't afford to use anything above Heroku's free plan. I will look into the garbled text problem. :)

This is a very good point. Perhaps it is time to think about what a modern web truly should be. The web has many things going for it. It's no mystery why it's so popular. It's the leading platform to share information and media with the wor

As a platform for game development, there is much better out there than HTML5. With HTML5 you have to deal with many serious faults that do not exist when working with many other platforms. HTML5 canvas doesn't feature the ability to turn o
