> There is the dependencies array, how it only does a strict equals check (no shallow comparison), how you need to memoize other dependencies so they don't change on every render So basic memoisation? > why you can't put one

If they were being globally-minded about these "global" stations, Country would not be the second station they make. What a misfire.

I really don't understand what they've done with the Beats brand. They've released a handful of headphones (that in my experience have suffered an array of technical faults compared to reports from Airpods users) and Beats 1.

I used Vercel for the first time last week and the time between creating a repo to have a Next site publicly deployed was minutes. A custom domain was a couple minutes more. I was gobsmacked, this is something that took me weeks four years

Yep. How much OSS did they leverage to build Tailwind UI?

It'd be useful in more if they were noticeably better today than when they were introduced. I wonder how much is down to intrinsic shortcomings with voice assistance and how much is just no one's made a good one.

I had this exact same thing happen with the Powerbeats Pro. A buzzing that would change in intensity relative to head movement. No music. Annoyingly I noticed just before I packaged them to return that they were working normally again. As e

I would pay money for an ad-free version of Google with the quality of results from a few years ago. I use DuckDuckGo and I find myself typing !g enough that I might change back completely.

I’d like to believe you’re right about the end of the year, personally I don’t think things will be “normal” for a bit longer. But yeah, the “rest of time” is a very long time, and these theories forget how quickly we adapted to this in the

I don’t think asking the time in London is asking too much of a VA in 2020

Is it? Siri is a digital assistant. The point is it should be held to a much higher standard. It's currently awful to the point of uselessness. So what standard of assistant is it? Not one you'd employ.

I totally agree, I think we're going to have a multi-decade period of technological improvement in this area from the first useful implementation to full sensory immersion.

But there might be a link between the time-density of the simulation and the emergence of consciousness.

Looking around at other living creatures it looks as if consciousness is a gradient. Several factors could move you up and down the gradient (to simplify), and I'd imagine that the speed of data transmission would be one of those. So

Siri-only input would make it a joke device. A device like that should be multi-input. Voice, mouse, keyboard, your watch, phone, ipad etc.
