No there isn’t. Elixir, and by extension Erlang and the BEAM VM, doesn’t have the concept of stackless coroutines. Task.async/1 (or Task.async/3) at a high level just spawns another BEAM process links it to the currently running p

This is a massive segue, but where would memory-unsafe languages be acceptable for use at Cloudflare? I'm assuming existing software that needs to be maintained would be one of the them but what about low-level firmware, kernel code, a

Have you tried tapping the version number (under the in-app Settings) five times? That reveals an advanced sync settings near the top iirc.

That looks so cool. Do you have any resources you would recommend to someone who want's to explore (or develop as you have) in this subject?

brightball is perhaps alluding that the BEAM VM environment itself is treated more as an operating system within an operating system rather than just another process in an operating system. The BEAM VM is unique (at least compared to mainst

Not the poster of the comment but I'd like to hear from the downvoter why this was downvoted. As a Rust novice, interpreting the comment GP made (from the perspective of, for example, C++ calling Safe Rust core or stdlib) this seems li

Wouldn't it be more accurate to say efficiency instead? It's to my understanding that the latest offerings from both AMD and Intel are competitive in regards to synthetic benchmarks at the cost of higher power consumption.

Right now (for my use case) it's primarily for GPU pass through into a Windows VM via Qemu/KVM. If that doesn't work, and since it's just PCIe, I wanna try experimenting with setting up 10 Gigabit fiber to a home server.

You _can_ use various hooks to dynamically bind and unbind on a single GPU system but that would be another degree of difficulty for newcomers (on top of potential buginess throughout the stack). As to the latter part of your first sentence

To my understanding for DDR5 on-die ECC is due to the high frequencies the individual dies run at. You are still vulnerable for anything between the RAM to the CPU.

Bit of a late reply, but how does Elixir fit into the overall strategy? Is it still like how it is described in previous engineering blogs where it acts as a kind of orchestrator for guilds?
