Is Rust still "non-mainstream"? Because it's extremely well suited for AoC. The ergonomics of a high-level language with the performance of C++.

I was never really a fan of Cursor. I'll use this if it's free and eventually gets generous free quotas.

Bless this man! I despise Goodreads but continue to use it, because there are no real alternatives. It feels like they outsourced the creation of that website to some cheap consulting agency in a low cost location and then left it at that.

I like your idea of doing some amount of uncomfortable work every day, internalizing it until it becomes second nature. Any tips on how to start? (other than just do it) :)

Why not use Deno instead of Node.js for the backend? For a product like this could the extra security that Deno's sandbox provides help?

Off topic but does anyone know what exactly Sutskever's SSI (mentioned in the article and with a valuation of $32B...) is up to? They have released... well... absolutely nothing in the year+ of existence.

Should we assume "GPT-5" still just means the LLM? It could mean 'GPT-5 the system' which means the model has RAG, tools to use it, and maybe fine-tuned to call those tools.

The human 'benevolence factor' has gone up throughout history as we've advanced and become more civilized. If AI is even more advanced than us then why is it naive to assume it will be more benevolent than us?

What's a red flag is that there are 3 new accounts commenting on this reply and all are in agreement supporting your view. Edit: apparently there's some confusion about my comment. I neither use, like, or support Next. I just foun

Any idea how Browserbase solves CAPTCHA? Wouldn't be surprised if it sends requests to some "click farm" in a low cost location where humans solve captchas all day :\

Is this different from ChatGPT agent mode that I can use from the web app? I found that extremely useful for my task which required running some python and javascript code with open source libraries to generate an animated video effect. I g

This is a fine example of technical exposition. Very easy to read and understand! Like many others, before this post I hadn't the vaguest idea what atproto was; I always assumed it was some decentralized thing a la crypto. But this act

The "heavy" model is $300/month. These prices seem to keep increasing while we were promised they'll keep decreasing. It feels like a lot of these companies do not have enough GPUs which is a problem Google likely does n

I've seen several people argue about the quality of ads on YouTube. For me it's not about that. I've been using ad blockers for almost 15 years now. Youtube has been free AND ad free for me for a very long time. I don't

Guess people here don't talk much about cargo. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that cargo inspired uv. Rust with cargo showed for the first time that tooling _can_ be good, even for systems programming languages.
