Ethically it simply comes down to giving credit where credit is due. If you discuss a new idea that you have spent time formulating with a co-worker that is good for the company and the co-worker presents this idea to your common boss as th

I am not panicing, just resolved that MS is probably deprecating .Net, it's obvious by the messages they are sending. Hell they can't even settle on a single UI technology, .Net has 3 right now, looks like a 4th coming in Win8.

Would be nice if MS made a decent javascript engine that embeddable in my own project, like V8, kinda like JScript was that is no more. I would love to use javascript as a scripting language for my .Net programs, and I can't use the one MS b

My god man, at least mention the existing technology called thermocouples at least once, since they have better efficiency than this thing.

Not kidding, XSLT is functional, it's very different from imperative style OO, it's not complex and can get a lot done with few lines of code. If you think it's painful and ugly, then don't dig any deeper in computer science than javascript

XSLT is XML, that whats nice about it, you can reflect on it. XML has no operators for manipulating or evaluating, it is a metalanguage. XSLT adds this on top of XML to process XML.

I am serious, document a JSON interface with what, English? Are you serious? JSON has no way to describe in machine readable way what to expect, instead you have to read a document then go hand code the interface in your language of choice.

That because schemas are complicated, no matter which way you encode the data. JSON is so nice and easy and simple until it needs all those things that made it into XML to get the job done. I whole heartedly agree, there is nothing sweeter

That because XML does not map well to Simula style OO. "Iterating" XML in XSLT (a language designed to manipulate XML) is way less of a pain.

what else do you do with a data structure besides walk it at some point? JSON comes out as an acyclic object graph in javascript, so what it still needs to be walked to actually do something with the data. The difference between walking JSO

Then address it in WebGL in IE right? Or no just don't implement the standard...

So do the same thing in a WebGL implementation in IE? Either way it's hypocritical.

Locks really shouldn't be happening with a datareader on a modern database with MVCC isolation (SQL2005+ and Oracle, etc.) unless you have specifically lowered isolation.

Exactly, UIWebView simply wasn't updated with the latest WebKit engine the Safari app is running. Web Clips use a special app wrapper that uses UIWebView, that is all. This affects real apps that use UIWebView to display HTML content, which

I don't know exactly what the "science industry" is, but in general this is bunk. K-12 education is paid vastly better (in terms of money and job security) than most scientists. Perhaps tenured profs do better, but most scientists are not

"Well, they don't scale indefinitely, and you do run in to Brewers Theorem at some point. " SQL and the Relational data model are not limited by Brewers Theorem, this is a myth. More info here: http://sergeitsar.blogspot.com/2011/02/mongod

"It's not that SQL databases do not scale per se, they just can't arbitrarily scale." Tell that to Clustrix, Vertica, and VoltDB. SQL is a query language, Relational is a data model, neither one prevents scaling out.
