Well of course, these types of communities aren't going to be paying for advertising because the communities themselves are generally going to be non-profit. My point was if these communities are hard to find, targeted ads from small b

OK, but pretending that the world hasn't moved on from these niche publishers seems naive to me. Perhaps I should have said "in the modern world, word of mouth doesn't work..." Today, chances are those niche publications

Right, but how do I find that tight-knit community (and begin to trust the people in it) if none of the people I currently associate with are interested in that niche & can introduce me to it?

Word of mouth doesn't work for super niche services/products where e.g. there's a good chance no one who's recommendations you trust would be interested in the same type of service/product It also favours more estab

Anecdotally - I've mostly stopped using plastic bin liners in the smaller bins where I could previously have reused carrier bags from shops. Rubbish goes in the bin directly & that gets tipped into wheelie bin periodically. Slightl

This seems like a positive outcome to me - thicker plastic bags are more durable, can be reused for longer etc., so while there may still be the same amount of plastic "being used", more of it is presumably plastic that has been u

In principle, wireless chargers can have very low power use when idle; I've seen figures quoted as 0.1mW i.e. over the course of a year 0.876Wh (so ~0.0009 kWh). Of course, this will likely vary based on the specific charger in use. I

Why just videos? Images and text posts could be used in the same way, to disguise messaging/propaganda as a joke etc. FWIW I don't think Facebook is likely any better in this area than TikTok, or indeed any social network or platf
