My algorithmic approach: You spend a fixed amount of time, if no choice could be made during this period, then flip the coin. The fixed amount of time could be as short as five seconds. Or the amount that makes sense to you, and you feel co

I so agree with you. Containers are just a very wasteful way to do static linking.

Dependency hell exists because people still think static linking was not a great idea. All this while Rust, go, and all the new kids on the block use only static linking. Because static linking is a great idea. If you can update a library,

I learned to use the TI-89 in an android emulator, last year, and I find it more useful than the ad-filled native Android apps available as an alternative. The thing solves symbolic matrix equations like it's nothing. Awesome investmen

I have both a Kobo reader and a Pocketbook reader. Both are great, both can read CBZ/CBR comic book formats, have custom fonts, get all books via WiFi sync. Lately I use the Pocketbook more because it synchronizes the book reading page

The reality is that today's job market is not ten-years-ago market. Employers and companies can't find enough developers to satisfy the demand. They should provide a bit of wiggle room and train internally as well. Three months ge

That's not proven. Not even a little. Dolphins most probably are sentient, and we still can't communicate with them well enough to talk about arithmetic. Even if some animals can figure out small numbers, anything over 7 is just t

With a modern Intel processor, it was much faster to go through a 10k integers array than sort it first and then do binary search. The small N is not that small anymore, and the difference speed between stack and heap is bigger now than eve

It would be like upgrading the train network to increase the distance between rails, to increase the size of cargo that can be transported. Not just one city needs the upgrade, all of them will need it, and all the related infrastructure li

Both things, the coffee and the memories, are important to me. And I don't see the post about being one, or the other. I see the post about the common point where these two meet, and reinforce each other.

To me, this is the epitome, the Magnum opus of propaganda. Corporations convinced the public to vote against green energy, and the public does! Democracy would be much better if our brains were equipped against such practices.
