It is not emotion at all. It is an expression of emotion. The fact that humans confuse both is what is worrisome. Think of 'The Mule' in the Foundation novels. He can convince anyone of anything because he can express any emotion

They don't have anything in mind except some points located in a vector space. This is because the location of the points is all the meaning the machine ever perceives. It has no relation with external perception of shared experiences

I don't care if humans can suffer. So much postmodern abstract art is so low effort and 'edgy', I can not consider it art. Is this part of the exhibition, or can I throw it into the rubbish bin? It's not about whatever t

This sounds a lot like Star Trek TNG. At least Picard has said something similar. In a post-scarcity society, people work to elevate themselves.

I think Dlang is better than the other languages mentioned in this thread, but I know almost no one uses it. It is what it is.

I'm sorry, I agree it is a beautiful language. But Ruby is slow. Performance matters. In a world when everything seems to run in cloud servers, efficiency matters. If you can have 20 times more simultaneous users in the same cloud serv

Lapce seems like a great new project. It is probably more important to legitimize Rust than to change the editors landscape, but if it does both, it can be awesome. Thanks for the heads-up!

What VS Code does better with the multiple cursors? I am curious. So far I only see that VSC uses Ctrl+Alt+arrow keys, vs ST using Shift+Alt+arrow keys to create the multiple cursors.

I wanted to try 10x, it doesn't exist for Linux. Sublime Text on the other hand, I purchased a licence for ST3, I am still using it with ST4, and I am happy with it. I use ST for C++, PHP, Python, LaTeX (it's actually great for La

Seems normal/expected. In the weiqi/baduk/go world, it is said your opponent knows you better than yourself, because he notices all the changes in the way you play.

Dismissal of the result of some billion years of constant adaptation and struggle is also a mistake, IMO. We are so much more than bacteria, and until proved otherwise, so far we are the smartest beings in the universe. We will at some poin
