The main reason is RA fees. Most people that incorporate in a different state have their incorporation company act as their registered Resident Agent for the life of the company because it is convenient and cheaper than having an attorney a

Same for me. I asked my Dad for an allowance once. He laughed and said, "You're barely earning your keep the way it is!" Then he sent me back to work. The end.

In Chicago, WaMu had much better business rates than Chase. I used Chase for some personal accounts because of ATMs, but WaMu for several business accounts.

Most programmers SUCK at marketing. Too many projects waste valuable front page space with minutiae before they even tell you what the hell the project is or why you should care. Programming project sites are usually more focused on people

I have a few WaMu accounts, and I just received several emails from them offering me a higher APY (4%) and 'holiday savings starting now' right before I clicked over to HN and saw this post. I've never gotten a promotional email from WaMu

There is an Israeli company that has built a 'farm-scale' robotic hydroponic system. They presented at an investment conference I went to a few years ago. The unit kind of looked like a big Dalek. I can't remember their company name, but

I got the same error on a few pages, but the site also (repeatedly and reproducibly) crashed my browser when I tried searching for a college. I thought I would love the site after reading the article, but the actual execution kind of sucks.

I tend to agree, although I didn't want to jump to too many conclusions just based on chapter titles. A chapter with Silverlight in the title is a dead giveaway, though ;-) Is anyone writing a book just on Mnesia/DB integration?

Amazon FPS? I'm told this is a cool service, but I have no firsthand experience. We own a payment processing company, so we've never had to deal with third-party gateways before.

It looks promising... I wrote the authors and asked them to reconsider the Silverlight chapter, though. I think focusing on Flash/Flex integration (or even something else entirely) would be much more useful to the community. Silverlight h

Chlorine is by far the most common pool cleaner, but not the only option. Some pools use other methods like ozonation and UV sterilization. Neither of these would bother your skin. Pools like this are admittedly much harder to find, but

At the 'height of the boom', I was working on an internet startup...in Indiana...and the startup was, uh, concrete-related. Needless to say, I served as a punchline for all of my friends that had moved to the Valley to make their fortunes.
