These are all good points, and I agree. The Em dash I've noticed a lot. One additional is over usage of adjectives like "robust" or something that came out of the third option in a thesaurus. As someone who has been using r

It wouldn't be surprising to me if an expert Leetcoder simply copy/pasted the code, knowing nothing of licensing. What would surprise me though is the engineering team not having at least one open source expert that didn't i

Well thought out comment here. One of the things I've done with my kids is steered them into screen time with a learning or logical factor to it. Examples are the Chess.com app, Kerbel Space Program, flight simulators, etc.

Yeah this whole article is meant to stir outrage - HN is taking the bait, but that's expected. The most proficient people in the world at logic, and they are still culpable to biases. My comment shouldn't be confused though - th

Doesn't matter. Some could care less what MSFT is doing - a Blazor app I developed in super-speed time has collected 40k transactions in the last 4 months. It did it's job.

This was a compliment from your kid and the way they should see you. The addiction is real. The fact I can walk into any private/public establishment and see the majority of people doing an endless scroll is actually really sad. The

Comparing a mostly homogenous 312km^2 country to an extremely diverse 9 million km^2 USA doesn't seem like a strong point to me. Regarding healthcare though, I would love to see it subsidized for the working person who neither qualifi

I think what you are saying could possibly be true, but is probably hard to quantify. Anecdotally, I have a friend living in the EU that claims the opposite of what you are, but I have no plans on taking a stance until I see some kind of p
