Considering how many embedded devices are in use, a lot of which are 8 bit microcontrollers with minimal RAM, designing systems that way would be irresponsible. There probably are some systems that don’t have an embedded use case that would

Ah, when I installed Asahi a while back I read that it wasn’t possible to install to an external drive and must have gotten it confused with not being able to install any OS to an external drive.

CCC is great although it’s not quite as useful as it is on Intel Macs on AS ones because the whole paradigm of “clone the drive onto a USB and boot it” doesn’t work.

The version of monopoly we have wasn’t designed to be fun, it was originally created to criticize capitalism and point out that it’s unfair and was spread among groups opposed to capitalism. Ironically a guy ripped off the game from these g

That’s one other potential viewpoint and maybe it should be adopted more, but that’s not how it works in practice. If penalties for driving drunk and/or recklessly were higher, people would probably feel that way more.

This is honestly a good reason in my opinion why having everything be so car centric in the US is such a bad idea. If there are other transportation s than driving then you can gate keep driving more with more strict drivers license require

It’s almost funny how little amateur rocketry is legally regulated, you can pretty much do anything you want to legally because practically people in charge of launch sites, etc. will not let you do dangerous shit, but for example without a

When there are lines between places they generally work very well. The last time I used HSR in Europe it was within Italy and they let you pick seats and the trains were very direct, I had 1 connection but that was because I started at a sm

I don’t see why Rocky wouldn’t be able to continue existing using old CentOS Stream releases. It wouldn’t be as easy or work as well as it currently does but there’s no reason why it wouldn’t work tk make a RHEL like OS.

Spotify’s podcast player is fine, but there are better ones. They clearly did put effort into it, it’s on par with the Apple Podcasts app IMO, but small indie apps have a knack for making better products than huge companies.

In the old web UI it’s a lot more clear what posts are ads and which ones aren’t, and a lot of the garbage no one uses like RPAN, the TikTok thing, etc. aren’t there. It’s no wonder why they fucking hate it so much lol
