The thing is that there's a lot of valuable information that I don't think we should just delete like that. When you search about a Neovim issue for example, often the solution is in an old Reddit thread. When you delete that, it

I think I might be quite warm naturally but those thinner caps that fit below the helmet work just fine for me when I bike in cold Sweden in the winter. -10 °C and below. The helmet itself gives some wind protection which helps as well I th

Never transmit onto the internet anything that would ruin your life if it became public, that's my motto. Regardless of how safe the transmission is in theory.

Not a Mac user, but on my Linux system i require password + yubikey (U2F/WebAuthN) for logging in, but then fingerprint is sufficient for sudo (or U2F alone on my desktop which doesn't have a fingerprint reader). I typically lock

What do you mean by PCGamingWiki being a "copycat site"? Copying who? It's always the go-to site I use to check various technical details on games and any tricks that can be done to improve shortcomings of especially older ga

You can set up an Editorconfig[1] file to automatically fix trailing whitespace and insert the final newline, among other things. Most editors have support for it (either built-in or in a plugin). It's a lifesaver when you care more ab

Abusing HTTP methods like this is something ElasticSearch does on some of their APIs. This is annoying because spec-compliant tools don't always play nice with them. For example: ElasticSearch can take a body on some GET requests, but

That isn't Git installing things though, that is third-party Git distributions bundling things along with Git.

I tried the FIDO2 way of authenticating to SSH when I finally had a Linux system with new enough versions of OpenSSH et.c in the repos. It works quite nicely, but the PIN has to be entered every time I auth to SSH. This may be a desirable f

Yeah, before the new DateOnly (and TimeOnly) types, there was no built-in way in C# to specify a plain date. NodaTime[1] (a popular third-party library for datetime operations) did have such types though. [1]: https://nodatime.or
