Anthropic isn't a party to such contract either because they (most likely, in the reasonable reading of relevant laws) hold no copyright over the output of their LLM.

I don't. The agent was told it needs to provide a website for opting out of the scan, and it seems entirely LLM-like to try to be extra helpful and also spawn opt-out bots on various relevant communication channels. The IRC bot was a s

In any human relationship, nobody wants to be the one who noticeably makes more effort to communicate, keep in touch, resolve conflicts, and so on. The idea of reciprocity and fairness are deeply entrenched in our minds, and that of many ot

Compilers are deterministic and, luckily, not agentic. But yes, it's not obvious (or perhaps even likely) that it just happens that current high-level languages are the "correct" optimal level of abstraction at which you ca

What "choosing the target" means has been fuzzy for a long time too. We've had beyond-visible-range missiles for a long time that are basically "fly to this grid square and find a target".

Yeah, I remember playing it on a P233MHz without a 3D graphics card... It was sort of playable, but any alpha-blended effects like muzzle flashes or explosions slowed it to single-digit FPS for a second :D Still, I played it through like th

Quake ran smooth on a Pentium 100. Half-Life absolutely wouldn't have, even at 320x240.

They’ve both had the exact same cost (both throughput and latency) on just about any ALU designed in the last several decades. There are no separate steps involved in the function of a full adder.

The thing is, "everybody just communicates" really does break down when the size of the organization grows past some limit. Everything is easy in a ten-person company, but that absolutely does not scale to a 1000-person company.

Shame about the name, it feels better suited to a more general curated repo/hall-of-fame of papers in any field that come with easily rerunnable code to reproduce the paper’s results, or try out different datasets, or similar.

I don’t know, but I use #ABC a lot , it’s much more convenient than #ABCDEF, never mind [0, 256) or [0, 1]. There are of course more intuitive coordinate schemes and color models, but I find RGB easy enough when you’re not actually doing s

The point is that quantizing the range makes it easier for humans to choose colors. But there's already the #ABC hex format, which while less intuitive to non-techies has the huge advantage of being well-established.

Avoiding analysis paralysis, making it more intuitive to manually write colors. But yeah, there doesn't seem to be any advantage over the well-established #ABC format than decimal digits being easier to non-techies.

"Contemporary" lenses aren’t more modern that "Art". The monikers were introduced at the same time, along with "Sports". Rather, "Art" is Sigma’s high-end line, similar to Canon’s "L". "

Not teaching analysis to 1st year physics students seems to me rather crazy, TBH. Yes, people (are supposed to) learn basic calculus in high school, but university-level math just hits different. And at least around here stuff like actually
