In modern browsers that support the Shadow DOM[1] standard, this is a somewhat solved problem with one caveat: it wasn't built for this use case. Architecturally, however, it does the job but the challenge is integration with dated bro

That's only really useful in key exchange scenarios (DH/ECDH). A lot of implementations use RSA or similar to directly encrypt packets of information, though it's generally not recommended for reasons such as this.

That’s true, but the absolute values of the timeframes involved are quite different. Classical computing is speeding up, for sure, but breaking RSA-4096 (as an example) will take significantly longer to be feasible than the 10-20 year estim

The problems arise when data is intercepted now. Sure, some encrypted information won’t be useful/sensitive once the advent of cryptographically significant quantum computers comes but if any packets are simply stored now and saved for

Kind of. Elliptic Curve can be reduced to the Discrete Logarithm problem, which a variant of Shor’s Algorithm solves in polynomial time.

I wouldn’t read too much into this. Intel have very generous employee “patent creation” bonuses that encourage them to constantly file patents, ca. $2500 per patent IIRC. That being said, it’s still interesting seeing Intel encouraging and

I think Intel's approach to competing with the likes of ARM and other "mobile" processor manufacturers is to capitalise on the backend enterprise market. Intel know that if there are x new phones (with third party mobile pr
