Funnily enough, psychiatry seems to function a lot like our field, based on trends, because ultimately the brain is a black box. You can't see how it works, you can only feed it input and observe the output, and if it's consistent

Can you name a few such protocols? Your statement makes me very curious because as far as I'm aware, key distribution is the core problem of asymmetric cryptography. I can generate a private key and say I'm you, and there's n

Solid advice but I'm still trying to build my value ... so far I am worthless. I think the networking aspect itself is also an aspect of being at the right place at the right time. One can't ask others to pull strings unless you c

My office is in the same building as BitDefender. I casually talked to some of the guys and they do use IDA Pro in their malware research department. They mostly hire their researchers straight out of college if they have high C proficiency

After the windows 10 blunders lately I decided to give Linux on the desktop another shot. Decided to go with Ubuntu since it's the most popular distro so there's more likely to be support for it. Developer tooling is really damn n

I subscribe to this post's message. I was reluctant at first, but after buying a pair of Sennheiser HD650 headphones and a Fiio E10K headphone amp/dac and I can definitely tell the vast improvement in sound clarity.

I have a S7 as well. What phone would you suggest to be better for games? I travel quite a bit for work and while I admit I was quite skeptical of games on the go I now find in them quite a bit of enjoyment.

Google went trough a lot of effort to make their products slow on any browser other than Chrome. So I guess it's their way or the high way.

Interesting article. I'd like to hear more about this but other than his Synaulia[0] project, I can't seem to find anything about his music... [0] https://www.soundcenter.it/synaulia.htm

Forgive my impudence, but why does this matter? I have barely managed to come to terms that I will never accomplish anything of value in my life. I suspect this is true for most people. As a society, we inherently value diligence and hard w

I tried switching to Linux again for desktop usage since Proton became a thing and I was tired of the weird new licensing model. Installed the new Ubuntu 18.04 LTS and after fiddling around for a week I still couldn't get my sound card

I share your view. I believe it was during the industrial revolution where the family was redefined from an economic unit to a loving unit. Kind of strange how nowadays it feels like it has always been this way.

I'm eastern european so I hope you don't mind me chipping in my opinion as a reply to you. I just simply don't trust the 'public good', aka the government. When I'm looking at my payslip, 46% goes to the state

That was around the infamous rootkit scandal, right? They also have some very annoying practices for their hardware. I borrowed a Sony digital camera from a relative for a roadtrip and the memory card broke down. To my dismay I realized I c

Hah. Reading this is quite amusing. Tricksters and pranksters were just as prevalent on the internet back then as they are now.

While I understand your point, I don't think there's that much more money to be made from stolen fuel compared to the goldmine of drugs. A kilo of cocaine goes for around $26k in California. How much fuel would you need to sell in

This is the correct answer. https://www.historyextra.com/period/modern/1940-the-year-mex... Decriminalizing drugs also had a similar effect in Portugal. To be honest, I think that if the government really wanted t

I just tried your product and I absolutely love it. I like how snappy it feels and adding feeds of my own is a breeze. I also like how minimalist it is and I can just look at my feeds without some ads or content I don't care about bomb

I recall I stopped using RSS feeds when Google pulled the plug on the reader. I couldn't find anything that was as convenient and I don't really want to pay for yet another subscription as I have too many of those as it is.

I may be naive in saying this, but I believe the law is made with good intentions in mind. The real problem lies in the laws it relies on, namely the extremely stringent copyright laws and the weird fair use. > Much of YouTube content i

I realize it's a bit cynical of me to say this, but this is the free market at work. There can only be oh so many philosophy professors. Assuming a professor career lasts 40 years and each of these programs produces 10 graduates a year
