Trust me, I’m a libertarian communist meaning I oppose the use of the State or any force. There are no gulags nor prisons in my imagined future. Marx’s economic analysis of different ways to organize production is invaluable even in a compl

You’re right about marxism but your framing about dividing society seems unhelpful in my opinion. Marxism is about recognizing power imbalances in society and understanding how to use our collective power for our benefit rather than the ben

Kropotkin described himself as an anarchist communist in the 1890’s. There is a lot of historical meaning in the combination of those terms.

Hedonist libertarian socialist makes perfect sense to me and describes me and many of my friends. A lot of socialists want collective power so we can reduce working hours and spend more time with each other having a good time.

You probably don’t want to watch a 52 minute video on that exact question but I did recently make one: https://youtu.be/KFcd5EQgMEQ But there have always been communists who want to organize production communally using pure

I’ve always assumed signal was a honeypot. They publish some source code but obviously we can’t verify the actual code running on iOS or (I assume) Android devices am I right? It seems like publishing open source could be a smoke screen. Wh

I appreciate your comment. I guess I am frustrated because I grew up with the colonizer mindset, that the Europeans who came here were nice people that did nice things and everyone had a big party together. I did a school play when I was a

Unions and also cooperatives. Unions to me are like holding a wolf by the ears. The capitalists don't want to treat their workers right but the union can demand it. Unions don't take start up capital to form so they are a good sto

While I do not advocate for a state-based model, I want to point out that the soviets beat the USA to orbit on a centrally planned economy. I see no reason to assume we cannot have machine tools and other high end equipment. Especially beca

Yes. One could call this communism and I often do. But note that this is a voluntary system, so it is libertarian communism. It is not based on authoritarian rule as many people who mention communism will associate it with.
