Mostly a pet peeve, I guess. The subject should describe what the message is about, the body is the message. After opening the message, I automatically look down to read or skim the body. When there's nothing there, it annoys me to no end

I think this should apply for any kind of email, not just for busy people. Actually, this applies to most kinds of writing too. It'll come off much better if it's well-worded but simple and to-the-point. The more fluffy sentences you add to

Right. Fair enough. But, even then, the requests come from the client browser, rather than our server, which is much less likely to be a problem to CL.

You'd be surprised, but our entire service does not make a single request to the craigslist servers. We get the craigslist postings from the 3taps API, which themselves scrape Google Caches to import that data. The images are typically host

The concept was to rethink the way we browsed Craigslist and shopped online. The main section, the "homepage" is a tree map of recent craigslist posting sorted by popularity using a slightly modified version of Hacker News' ranking algorith

A lot of these high-paying jobs seem a lot less interesting to someone who has the hacker mindset. To me, they certainly do. Also, you're guaranteed a nicely paying job, but there's no opportunity for massive wealth like there is in the ris

These mathematics seem highly dubious to me. It's like they just found a bunch of different ways to describe the same thing, Infinity. Yes 0 is 0. I could also describe it as (5 * 4 * 3 * 0), but how does that help? When you think about it,

DynDNS is a bitch, but I usually just setup an SSH tunnel between my box and one of my cloud servers to show off my localhost over any kind of shitty connection. Even works at Starbucks, which I don't think DynDNS does. This app is really n

I don't know about you, but I don't think $25/mo is worth cheapening my blog by plastering tasteless ads on it. I'd have to be pulling significant income from it before I would even consider putting ads on my blog.
