Tech company names in general have completely lost the plot. Looking ANYTHING up in search engines these days is completely and utterly derailed by tech companies (/programming languages/frameworks/etc) who insist on naming t

I like how some websites format company and person names in a very specific way. Either like [We] or having them bold or in a different colour. Especially in this era of “name your company after a really common daily-use word for maximum co

Yeah this is being compared to Fyre Festival. The difference is Fyre Festival was on an island ill-equipped to handle that many stranded people. This is going to end up more like your typical Internet meetup, just bigger. Lots of people wil

Bit of both. Kids like making things with their parents, and geeky parents are more likely to spend the time making stuff with their kids if there’s a fun nostalgia trip for themselves at the same time. I’ve done a lot of retro gaming proje

I recently went from a DIY NAS (Linux PC with lots of HDDs shared on my LAN) to a Synology and am now absolutely in love with it. All my devices now back themselves up to the NAS overnight. Cameras dump direct into the NAS via a card reader

Godot? Seems to be popular and some pretty decent games have been made with it.

Based on comments in this thread (and my own experience on BBSes), it predates Zuckerberg being born. Just for some perspective of how ridiculous this patent is.

Almost? It’s blatant clickbait and they know exactly what they’re doing. TheVerge isn’t exactly shy of this sort of thing though. It’s a digital tabloid that flukes on some interesting stories occasionally.

Is there anything comparable? I watch multiple “shows” that use Hangouts on Air (Adafruit Show & Tell, Makercast, etc), I wonder what they’ll use now.

Oh I have no doubt they know every account I’ve had. This whole thing reminds me of doing your taxes. They already know all the information, they just want you to tell them again so they can see if/where you lie.

I’ve lived in multiple apartments in Sydney that were around that. One was smaller, maybe 2.5m x 3m studio with a “kitchenette” in the clothes cupboard (a microwave and a sink that barely fit a dinner plate). These go for ~AUD$1200-1600&#x2
