That wouldn’t work if they don’t have a direct connection (my main use case) I have a bunch of servers with no public IPs split between different regions.

The use case that excites me is transfer between servers/no X11. Just a single binary, no deps to worry about. They could also be air gapped, both behind NATs and other non-standard topologies. ICE will take care of all the hard proble

This is super exciting, so many cool things happening here. I haven't had a chance to grok it fully yet but someone added WASM support to pion recently [0] you will able to just write your code once in Go and should work in both plac

Thanks @cretz :) We have had a lot of churn, but I am really proud of how we split everything out. DTLS, SCTP, ICE and SRTP are a real pain but once it works it is amazing. We are also working on https://pion.ly/knowledge-ba

Country A isn't losing anything by allowing others to use it. Even if no one contributes back developers can spend that time doing other valuable work, rather then re-invent the wheel in every country around the world.

Congrats on the release maxmcd, you really built something cool quick! The best thing about Go is those easy deploys, it would be great to drop this on a remote server and go at it. Could be helpful for getting quick shell help for a friend

There have been a few libraries popup that tie libnice + OpenSSL + libsrtp + usrsctp together, it is nice that the stack is all there. Just have to jump through lots of hoops :) The creation of them also seems to be accelerating! I think th

There are implementations that don't use libwebrtc/Chromium at all like pions-WebRTC[0] Or do you want something that has a completely different API? It would be nice to be able to ignore the JS idioms, but it is tough to start fr

Hey HN! WebRTC is a powerful, but complicated technology. You can build amazing things, but it comes with a steep learning curve though. If you aren't sure what WebRTC is, here are some of the cool things you could build * Send a video

I have to disagree. The most painful APIs I have had to work with are ones that try to abstract things away, and fail. They usually create bad abstractions (don't full understand what they are trying to expose) or they don't expos
