Like everyone getting frustrated with the buggy core.async and just using JS promises directly? In Clojure/JVM core.async has less problems though.

I wouldn't call it "nicely", there is lot of stuff that makes it really tedious. The bigger issue though is wasting time wrapping Java libraries and most comments I see about Clojure interop talk as if there is no cost to it.

Just one question: why he says that clojurescript is a pain in the ass? Because you have to deal with a lot of BS for no gain over modern JS.

That book is heavily biased toward doing everything you can in the database and boasts it as the only true way. Which IME is hardly true for many type of applications and phases of development. Many times having more brains in your applicat

Your setup is normal, the weird part is running a GUI in the linux VM. Simpler, why not just use ssh? (since you are vim user and all)

Is there a plugin that imitates Chrome's tab groups? I tried tree style tab but it's not the same.

When your dev environment is on a remote server, the DX of vscode is superior, everything just works(like all your plugins), it's seamless and fast. Tramp is great for editing some remote files here and there, but to match vscode you w

You make it sound as they are talking about full rewrites but it's actually about rewriting stuff here and there. You are also assuming one just rewrites stuff blindly and randomly without any prior new insight.

The development process is totally different when you write structured types first and then write your logic. 10/10 would recommend. Unless you were writing very small throwaway scripts, in what world where you writing your logic fir

SQL is a high level language, more declarative and better at manipulating data than your project's programming language. Comparing a compiler implementation would be in this case comparing to a database implementation.

If you're experienced in Lisp, I'm still curious about the question: is adding a lisp to a sheet more powerful than adding, say JS, and if so, how? No, it won't be more powerful

As someone who is into programming and lisps, I would prefer a declarative language (a la SQL and the relational model) which is just simply superior at manipulating data over some FP language (OOP langs are much worse of course). But then,

FPC doesn't sound right since you can have a react component for just a single part of a page, it doesn't necessarily need to take control of the whole page.

Emacs and Vim are both equally efficient at text editing, I don't think you gave Emacs a fair shot. OTOH, VSCocde is frustrating to use if you are proficient at vim/emacs.
