For those that have switched to Go from nodejs to serve json for a web app, how did it go? (excluding the possibility of needing something like react ssr which can be a big one for many apps).

For you requirements, you can't wrong with postgres, nodejs and react. Why juggle between two languages when you can just use one?

4. Concurrency model that lets you spin up things in the background and keep processing in memory before you go into databases, worker queues, and whatnot. If you want to cache something slow, just put it in a map behind an RWMutex, and yo

Check out https://www.hugsql.org/ . Is a Clojure library but I'm sure I have seen Python and JS versions around.

More like Google, Mozilla just waits to see if Google is going to implement it since they can't think for themselves.

Besides performance, what other cons exists for immutable data structures in a single standalone system?

Performance was not his only pain point. He also had issues integrating with the JS ecosystem. IMO Clojurescript is not worth extra layer of complexity.

Yes, Lisp and F# are esoteric programming languages in the industry.

Yep, the author learnt their lesson. I bet they won't be using cljs again, not even for non-performant apps.

FWIW, I use emacs exclusively inside tmux, starts in ~0.3ms for me with more than 40 external packages.

If you are writing toy programs in your mom's basement sure but every real world clojure project I have work with had to use Java libraries. When I said 'not writing Java' I was obviously talking about the JVM.

Not writing Java (although you do have to do lots of interop with Java).

It's a shame that something like Typescript is and will dominate the static typing JS ecosystem/industry instead of something simpler and sane like Rescript.

Don't know the exact details but they mentioned is full of operational footguns, like using it slightly wrong can utterly tank your performance or availability. Many operations are unpredictable so is hard to know what to expect. Anoth

This forum is heavily anti-other-dbs and pro-postgres so you won't get objective answers here. FWIW, at least three DBAs that know both well have told me that postgres is an operational nightmare compared to mysql.
