Seems that's just expecting things that LLMs were not designed for. It's a token producer based on trained weights, it doesn't use any sources. Even if it were "fixed" so that it only generates URLs that exist, it&#

They can't override laws of course, but it could mean that if two jurisdictions have conflicting laws, you can't be active in both of them.

As an amateur player (~2000 ish), classical is where it's at. I love the feeling of deep focus that is so hard to find in the rest of life these days but that I can still get into in a serious, slow over the board game. The problems of

There was a brief period, from about 1998 to 2010-ish, where computers were stronger than humans but computer-assisted humans were stronger still. That was when the term was used. There were some tournaments held with the concept.

It's very easy to accidentally click flag instead of the title (on mobile anyway), I hope it doesn't immediately do something serious.

I disagree, store UTC time and the name of timezone it was originally recorded in so it can be translated back to that as well. UTC only loses information.

Of course. We want AI to do the boring mundane stuff so we can work on the interesting hard stuff, not the other way around.

Syrians are the second largest group of asylum seekers in Denmark, after Ukrainians. They're almost exclusively war refugees.

It's because the ME immigrants that make it to Denmark are traumatized refugees from war zones, with education that isn't recognized so they can often only do minimum wage work if they work at all. That's not racist, that&#x

But are there any iron mines, steel plants etc that actually work on electricity? Otherwise you can calculate any offset you want, but it'll be a paper exercise.

You said "for the foreseeable future", which I interpret as being about now. Anyway I hope you're right, but so far global CO2 output is still growing. All the other energy has only come on top of carbon intensive energy, it

When human civilization crashes due to yearly climate change caused famines it won't matter how useful the work done by the AIs was.

But the article says that energy use by AI is 48% more carbon intensive than the US average. So talk of solar power is a red herring -- that's not what it is running on now.

Businesses will only start doing that in significant amounts when carbon emissions are priced according to their environmental impact.

AIs can do no such thing of course, they're a pile of coefficients computed from training data. Any bias found must be a result of either the training data or the exact algorithm (in case of bias based on position in the prompt, for ex

Change the design of the API so that the posts and the photos and so on are not returned inside the user object but on the same level as it. So {user: {...}, photos: [...]}, not {user: {..., photos: [...]}}. Alternatively define separate sc

I see it as an anthropomorphized word for the story. I imagine the machines run out of tasks with high or even low priority, but they still generate tasks at some epsilon priority that are close but not quite to random. That's a kind o

The way I see it is that hard science is about the new science and its effects on people, so it has to make the science believable somehow. Whereas soft science fiction has a futuristic setting but isn't primarily about that.

Splitting off a few services from an application is not the same as using micro services. With microservices you split off basically everything that would be a module in a normal application.
