Most of ASML's technology was developed at ASML. Yes, not all, and there are US patents. But there was an insane amount of work they did in making it reality (together with Zeiss).

Part of that is that you're taking a fixed number of companies. So if Europe has more, but smaller companies, the value of the top-40 would be lower than if they had fewer but larger companies. To me the first sounds healthier, everyth

Yes, it does. You had a 1/1000 chance of picking the right door at once. Monty had a 1/1000 chance of opening only empty doors. He had a 998/1000 chance of opening a door to a car, but that didn't happen. So it's ei

I assume that at the time of writing, most readers would have been familiar with the actual game show and the fact that the host always opens a door with a goat?

Yes, but it's not only climate change this time. We are also massively overusing every natural resource there is. We're in a mass extinction event and we would be in it even if there wasn't a CO2 problem at all.

What's the genre of Electric Callboy called? Partycore? See songs like We Got The Moves on YouTube. Music can be really heavy and still all about fun.

> You can have nice things like this till they get abused. That can be interpreted both ways. Keeping people off the land is also a type of abuse, as is misuse of the land by a large amount of people roaming there.

Seen from here, in the last half year I've seen far more articles on "OK, we're all addicted now, how do we get out of this mess" than ever before.

You're not the first to have that criticism, still our political class seems to think it's best to follow them. I think we do have slightly more influence on the US than our size would merit.

Also that's what we do since WW2. We are a close ally of the US, use US weapons, usually follow them in foreign policy. So not very surprising imo.

Isn't that what almost the whole field of software engineering is about? In my experience, key is to keep the code as small and simple as possible, that way there is less that might need changing in the future.

No, not a shitty client, just one that was written before you decided to make this change. If your API breaks it while it doesn't change, it's the API that's being shitty, not the client.

'Niks' is an alternative version of 'niets', which means 'nothing'. Niksen is the verbified form, so 'to nothing'. It has an -en ending like most verbs, unrelated to the -sen ending as in those names.
