It's very noob friendly, just click a few things on a nice webUI. But as it's a layer doing a bunch of stuff on top of nginx, letsencrypt, etc.. There's more chance of odd bugs or things not working properly. If you're f

I don't really get why it needs crypto wallet integration, or how it's 'web3'. Protonmail or other examples of webmail services that support encryption work with a normal user and password login.

If that happens, it sounds like a good chance to move away from gmail to something more robust.

Is gmail removing IMAP too? Why support OAUTH at all when you can use the normal method of logging in with IMAP and an app password?

Panasonic has a webcam driver via USB, so you don't even need the HDMI capture device.

An RF power meter or spectrum analyzer. It would be very clear if a device is radiating enough RF energy to make a connection. Battery life is another giveaway, I've had android phones turned off in a drawer for months and they still h

Very little though, the energy needed to make the noise is incredibly tiny compared to the energy used to fly.

It's a ridiculously easy thing to test, and I've never heard of a phone transmitting while powered off or in airplane mode so far. The FCC for one would throw a fit if airplane mode or power off still actively transmitted.

Yeah that's the biggest hangup I have, it just seems strange to rely on a third party login to be able to access something as important as a VPN. If my google account or whatever gets shut off for any reason I'd be pretty hosed.

It would be nice to see some more effort put into noise. The tradeoff is shorter flight time, so I imagine that's why they're all loud. Drones with 8 or 12 bladed props can be surprisingly quiet, with essentially no whine at all.

The easiest setup I can think of is Homeassistant, with a Z-Wave and Zigbee gateway attached to it. Then you can buy various z-wave or zigbee devices, and they have no vendor lock in and don't rely on wifi or internet access.

I'm going through this right now, the free gsuite plan is ending and I have accounts tied to it through "Login with Google". Luckily not too many, but it still strikes me just how stupid I was to use that option on any site,

I like Darktable, but for the life of me I cannot figure out how to get defringe working. It's completely intuitive in lightroom and rawtherapee, but for some reason darktable just doesn't do what I want.

A good NIC doesn't have any of those issues. It all comes down to their poor choices in what ethernet IC to use.

I feel like if you need ethernet, hdmi, DP, etc you should buy a laptop that has those ports on it in the first place.

Google could solve a lot of storage issues just by not allowing device manufacturers to lock apps so they can't be uninstalled. There is a huge amount of bloat on modern android phones and tablets that cannot be removed.
