If it's safe yeah, but plenty of areas have no option other than riding a bike in car traffic.

I would say that only air source heat pumps suffer in cold weather, ground source versions don't really care what the air temperature is.

Well it is a fanless laptop, I have to keep that in mind for comparisons haha. I used the same preset on my R7 3700x which is not the fastest CPU by any means, and managed around 70fps. But I imagine power draw is a lot more than ~3x higher

I'm a little surprised the encode performance is ~10fps on x264. I don't know that much about the apple CPUs but I do remember a lot of news about how fast they were for media related tasks.

Milwaukee does this as well it seems, the M12 batteries I've had fail and taken apart seem to have no method of balancing the cells. They have sense lines to the charger from each cell, but those go through a 1k resistor so don't

Hmm, in that case it seems like the package manager should stage the new update and wait for the process to end before doing the update. But I suppose linux is generally geared towards servers, where that isn't an issue.

On windows it just doesn't do the update until the browser is closed. It's odd that they don't have the same behavior on linux.

Lack of standards/QA. So many battery packs out of china for ebikes, scooters, etc... are just poorly made, wires running everywhere that get pinched and short out, poor quality BMS with no testing done, just jammed into a metal case s

Some are, some are actual sales. 'Keepa' for amazon makes it very easy to see a nice price history chart and figure out which it is (even if buying from another retailer).

Ozone is not good for you or a lot of materials in your house, get a good filter for the intake instead. A high MERV filter will remove bacteria/viruses as well as a bunch of other stuff.

I find it odd that they're using a Pi for this, it's not really a good solution for permanent installs, and is overly complex (and slow) for just monitoring a few sensors. It could be done entirely on an ESP8266 or ESP32 for much

That's still way too complex for something that wants to be widely used. It should just be an app on your phone or PC.

I've tinkered with that using healthchecks, but I don't really trust that I know what I'm doing when setting it up. Restic is also confusing to me with forgetting snapshots and doing cleanup, I don't understand why that

I've been using Autorestic but it has some issue, it keeps modifying the yml file on its own with an invalid config option, which causes the backups to fail. Not a good thing for something that's supposed to run in the background

If you use restic/kopia, how are you managing scheduling and failure/success reporting together? That's one thing I can't seem to quite figure out with those solutions. I know there are scripts out there (or I could try

Or at least have current sensing and thermal sensing inside the card on each supply rail at the connector header, so it can fault if something goes wrong.

Look for USFF sized PCs on eBay. They run around $80-100 for fairly recent Intel CPUs, and don't use much power.

It's simple and easy to get started with, if you're already using platform.io then there's not really any advantage to going back.

Have you found the bridges reliable? I tried this about 6 months ago and the messenger/instagram bridges would almost never stay connected, which led to many messages not coming though.

Especially since an android phone can idle for days on about 10Wh of battery, or something like 0.2W.
