I can definitely relate to the part that talks about analysis paralysis. When starting a new project, like everybody else, I'm usually faced with several different options on how I'm going to design it, which libraries I'm going to use, wha

Certainly. The language looks crowded to me because it looks like a mixture of several different languages at once (well, two at least). You're using a markup language to define the user interface - why? If the point was to make it look mor

I don't know. I see it comes with it's own server and database bundled and I don't really like it. I'd like to choose which server I'm going to deploy and which db I'm going to use myself. Also, the language just looks kind of crowded.

It seems that you're forgetting that Eclipse is not an IDE. It's a foundation. A foundation, similar in some ways to Apache, that owns many different projects. One of them is the Eclipse IDE. The other is Orion. Now tell me, why shouldn't a

As far as I can see, the project is currently in early incubation phase, so no, it should definitely not be considered ready for actual development. They even say so themselves in the FAQ: http://wiki.eclipse.org/Orion/FAQ#Can_Orion_be_use

No, Orion is not e5, as far as I can see it's a set of browser-based tools for developing web apps. E4, by the way, is alive and well, it's release schedule is aligned with Indigo's. So, you can download the latest build (it's a RC1), and

I recommend working at a larger company. If you join a startup right after graduation, chances are you're going to have to find out about a lot of real world stuff, best practices, technologies and so on on your own. There's a good chance y

I agree with your point, but you might be surprised how many people would write the more verbose version simply because they don't feel comfortable with regular expressions. Or how many wouldn't even think of using a regex for this.

Yes, but wouldn't that get them in trouble because of the anti-monopoly laws? If I remember correctly, they got sued just for bundling IE with Windows, right?

So, what you're saying is that EU countries would block access to the proxies in other countries because of these reasons that you mention? Possibly. They might try to do that, but I'm not sure that they would succeed. There are too many pr

So what if they do erect this "virtual wall"? People will just access those sites through some non-EU based proxy. Unless they block access to each and every non-EU based proxy, of course.

We're definitely going off-topic here but I just have to ask: I heard that there is a strong anti-EU sentiment in many member states precisely because people feel the same way you do about EU. But obviously, EU worked out quite well for the
