   I wonder how much of that comes from the different method/implementation of storing themes in binary .edj files rather than in textual format like GTK. (Don't know enough about Qt theming to comment on that).

   Smalltalk-80 and the resulting modern implementations of it follow this idea. Typically, the IDE/development tools come with the runtime environment and these allow the browse the system's code as well as inspect existing instance

   I think the author is in a Go bubble and just doesn't realise it. There is much hype and hyperbole here, but it seems like the author thinks what the world uses is the same as what those in his personal bubble use.
