Seeing a description directly in the README for the folders in the repo and their contents makes me really happy. I wish more projects would do that.

I really like the visualization, the functionality to watch live file access is so freaking cool. It's a bit slow though, no? After using something like WizTree, it's hard to go to something that needs minutes to finish scanning.

Precisely this. It feels like scrolling WMs and tiling WMs are entirely different paradigms. I see no way to transfer my workflow with tiling to a scrolling WM.

What's your point here? Did they or did they not use another voice actor who gave them permission to use their voice? The voice is similar to Johansson's, sure, but it's not her voice and it wasn't an AI generated versio

Sorry, you're right, I definitely meant ddrescue. That's what I always use, no idea why I wrote dd. Especially since ddrescue -d -n -S /dev/sdb sdb.raw sdb.logfile is permanently burnt into my brain. I guess I just took

Then they should've made an explicit reference. As is, I don't see any indication that they're even aware that The Last Question exists and it sounds like every other LLM fanatic.

This is such a weird statement. A lot of currently established science was only theorized during the early 20th century, long before we had the tools so they could be "proven" with real-world experiments. It was still science at

My god, that article is actually filled with terrible advice. I hope they don't do this professionally. It's bad enough they're misinforming people and directing them to do things in a worse, more fraught failure-prone way. &

This comment sounds like astroturfing to me. Telegram doesn't even provide secure chats by default. Everybody I've talked to was unaware that the chat was unencrypted until I pointed it out. That's before considering that 1)

I'd also like to know what the ROI is for countries other than the US, particularly ones in Europe, where getting a bachelor degree is significantly cheaper and cost of living (in many places) hasn't risen as much as it has in the

I've sworn by 7zip since forever and I still use it primarily, but I'd recommend peazip to anybody who wants 7zip but with a better, more convenient GUI (and workflow/behavior). I still think about switching back to peazip (o

This seems bizarre to me. They're closing the one that made Prey 2017. Is it because labor is cheaper in France vs in Austin, USA? Or maybe because everybody who was involved with making Prey left during the shitshow that was Redfall?

The death knell of MS's mobile ambitions came when the iPhone was released mid 2007. Windows Phone 7 launched end of 2010 as an unholy abomination based on Windows CE and a Zune-based interface, which created a whole generation of phon

Absolutely. I've looked at the SMART data of easily over 1000 drives. Many of them ok, many of them with questionable health, many failing and many failed. The SMART data has always been a valuable indicator as to what's going on.
