That is not an answer to the question. There are no "official linux distros".

But if you use the modern crypto stuff you loose interoperability, right? What is the point of keeping the cruft of the format if you still won't have compatability if you use the modern crypto? The article mentions this: > Take AEA

If it's a fido hardware token you still need to make sure you have a backup token. It's a lot simpler on windows/macos where you can use biometrics for the same purpose.

Yeah, I'd say that sounds fine. Since these are supposed to be used within a short time it'd also be easy to cleanup unused ones more then 5mins old or so.

I think one point of PKCE is that the oauth token is never sent to the client (it is exchanged on the backchannel), so it theoretically is more protected. Of course if you trust the client (no bad browser extensions, updated browser) and ha

For this sort of use-case v4 might be better. It has more randomness and you will probably delete the old ids as soon as they are used anyway, so the indexed space will probably be small.

What method/program are you talking about? Does it support FDE? Is it reasonably supported with the methods expected by end users (fingerprint, face, smartcard, etc.)? Everytime I've tried its been finicky and had to use non-stand

It's not overblown. There's 10 different package managers and none of them seem to have any common conventions. To even run a script you need to setup a venv and enter it by sourcing scripts. Try to move a venv, it breaks. Try to

Not true, see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2G#Phase-out Many countries/carriers in europe have already shut down 2G, many will shut it down in 2027. A few will keep it a few years more.

A lot of CF upstreams are (or at least used to be) plaintext. It is one of the criticisms of CF since it "whitewashed" plaintext to look like proper TLS when it was only TLS for client<->CF and then plaintext for CF<->
