How having the word "sweatshop" in the title is trying to glorify the person is totally beyond me. So any lengthy investigative journalism that lists the subject's life story is a glorification? Then all the media attack on D

I don't really think that there's such a huge difference between developers in remote countries and developers in first-world countries. Just like many programmers would have imposter syndromes, many unheard-of programmers in poor

I don't even think "jumping on the next new thing" is a particularly valid "career strategy". Many companies do use relatively "old" technologies and don't care as long as the job gets done. Slack eve

I don't think exact technologies per se are that important for "resume padding". Many companies do use relatively "old" technologies and don't care as long as the job gets done. Slack even uses PHP. Not to ment

Feels like this could well be Falun Gong propaganda. They are known for fabricating stories to discredit the Chinese gov. There are multiple such "notes from prison factory" stories floating around in the media already. It's

I don't think those Uighur camps are exactly comparable to force labor camps on prisoners. If one portrays them as such they are greatly twisting the facts.

That might be one way to do it. But that alone certainly is not enough. One will also have to have the political acumen to take credit and make sure the others' interests are taken care of as well. It's really a complicated game t

I don't see how being tied to a particular area is essentially good for the community, especially for big cities, which are used to huge turnovers. For me having the freedom to move wherever I want for my job sounds much more enticing

Rust sucks especially for the problems that Elixir is good at. Maybe when writing some system tools I'd consider Rust but so far it has been an absolute pain to use. Can't even get the code to compile for hours while in Elixir I&#

I've hardly run into any bugs in Elixir. It feels almost like Haskell to me. Pure magic. On the contrary I struggle to get even the most basic Rust program to compile, wasting hours before anything is done.

Is that actually a typical ADHD symptom though? I thought ADHD means not being able to concentrate for a sustained period of time, instead of being able to become insanely focused.

You can still negotiate a final amount to be paid via non-cash payment though. Sometimes the rounding off of numbers might even make paying by cash more expensive. Don't think that's a particularly strong point.

That's one way to go about it but it might be a bit simplistic and there's no reason why cooperation wouldn't work out for some civilizations as well. To completely hide one's signals is both hard to achieve and not nece

Late comment though I'm not sure if point 2 about awards and press coverage is true. Surely you can't spend all your time on marketing but you still need to gain traction somehow? I would like to see some opinions on this.

lol if you're letting yourself so overwhelmed by work probably you'd take a second look at your work-life balance, especially if you're working in Europe, unless you're the founder/executive or something.
