And `glances` is pretty great for big-picture stuff, all-in-one. It's not as precise on CPU/memory as htop, but you get network bandwidth, disk I/O, disk usage and more.

Wow. What a great plug. Loving searchcode.com. Thank you for running such a great service! I have endless frustration trying to search Google or DDG for these things.

Well, that's just the issue. I have no problem with Electron apps as an idea, but they're often coupled with extremely slow rendering. You can tell immediately. For instance, in Slack, which is more or less an Electron app /

Quality post. Thanks for sharing. If some of these timers are implemented as separate OS tasks that can interrupt each others, what's to stop one from taking a bit too much time and throwing off the timing of another?

This is really nicely done. It's great to be able to import a library like this and pick and choose only the components you need without bloating the bundle. Thanks for your contribution to the community. It feels like we're seein

Markets are truly fascinating. However much you think you know, you don't know as much as you could. The whole idea of Stockfigher really resonated with my experience over the last year and a half. Markets are incredibly complex. Aroun

<input type="number"> is just completely awful. To handle it properly in our React application, we have a <NumberInput> component which is roughly 200 lines (and shrinking, thankfully), involving more than a few browse

Yes, and that's widely been regarded as a mistake. Now that we have ES6 imports and wide CommonJS support I don't see any good reason to use hacky DI with Function#toString.

Function.prototype.toString() should be deprecated anyway. There are very few to no legitimate uses of it that are any better than awful eval() hacks. Re: this comment, if you just don't make huge comments inside the body, but rather

Yes, that's true - it was a loosely categorized collection of my thoughts while going through the frontend. The frontend architecture is very similar to that of BitMEX, the exchange that I built, so I am very interested in the choices

Hey - author of that post here. I can't tell for sure what the stack is by looking at its output, but judging by common experience in the LinkedIn profiles of the engineers, it looks most likely that it's Scala.

Agreed, dealing with LDAP would be far, far easier if there were a single monolithic config file (or hell, even a folder full of config files) instead of the unbelievably complex LDIF process. LDAP, or LDAP + Radius (for integration with a

I found this confusing: For each day of the five-week test, the system captured a full megawatt hour — enough to power more than 100 homes for a year. This doesn't add up. I'd like to believe what they mean to say is "

Libsass is night & day vs Ruby Sass. No problems using libsass with Bourbon, Bourbon thankfully stays away from the bleeding-edge features (many of which can be emulated with clever functions). In a previous project, we saw Sass compile

Perhaps the real value will be in the software. But I would expect that software to be open anyway. There's nothing I see that can be done by this "Bitcoin Computer" that couldn't be done by a raspi + a few hundred thous

That's pretty cool! In my config above, I ended up just using caps lock. It's a bit of a pain to remap, you have to use both Seil and Karabiner, but once you get it, it's very convenient. The entire cmd+shift+alt+ctrl keymap

Yep. "Passing a comment" is used by calling .toString() on the function. It fails when using minification for obvious reasons but of course you wouldn't on Node code. It's a clever hack around JS's awful multiline s
