This suit seems to be in bad-faith. Apple actively pursuited this tech but that backlash from the general population due to privacy concerns was simply too high, so they made a business decision to respect peoples privacy (and their bottom

Excuse the potential tin-foil hat but this be "cooking the books" to mask other purchases that are not suppose to be public eg. secret/top secret projects? 8000% seems obscene even for government billing...

Really redminds me of coffeescript, lots of special syntax that doesn't really help readability? I have a hard time understanding the motivation of this project other than syntactic sugar-maxxing JS/TS.

I'd be careful about this, they explicitly do not want you to use their websocket as a public api (hence the obfuscation in their protocol), I wrote a JS library and opted not to play cat and mouse with them.

Probably makes it harder to outsource inflated projects to contractors and makes them more publicly liable because now the public can audit them.

Tangentially: I just got rid of Authy, it took me 2h to to migrate everything, moved to apple passwords (yea yea, still propriatary) which has a so far solid export feature. I will never forgive Authy/Twillio for deliberately making ex

The licensing seems.. atrocious (both the wording and pricing), maybe I'm too far disconnected from the space where such applications are used but. I'm unsure which industry would tolerate this.

I don't disagree, hence "fake work" in quotes. Some people may (and clearly do thrive) in such environments but I personally did not. This particular scenario was a simplified excerpt but very well captures my perceived exper

Design doc culture at google is why I left the company. I wrote a very high level doc shortly after joining the company outlining a fairly trivial task (one that has been performed many times across other product areas). A colleague virtual

Tangentially: Writing this at 1:30am, might not be very insightful. We actually are phasing out the use of pm2 in our org since we are already running within kubernetes. And running pm2 within k8s seemed redundant (and is likely a relict of

This is kinda nice but will not scale well, you might want to move a quadtree [1] and a canvas, that way you will be able to scale this very well. [1] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quadtree
