My honest take as an experienced vim user is that you could use vscode for the rest of your life and not miss a thing. There's nothing inherently virtuous about using vim keybindings to edit vs standard OS keybindings. It won't ma

https://sqlite.org/forum/info/2ad28cb1e0356816e7b0bd2ab458f7... I don't think BEGIN CONCURRENT is out yet. AFAIK it's only available if you build the experimental wal2 branch yourself.

When will mithril.js get the hype it deserves, I'm a sucker for simple tiny libraries with no dependencies and no build steps that are mature as well (6 years). I guess it doesn't have a flashy community with talks and developer a

Pleasantly surprised that RUM is just a drop-in replacement for the built-in GIN index, you can still use Postgres' native FTS operations with it.

Exactly what I was thinking, by omitting the <html> <head> and <body> HTML can be quite concise [1]. Additionally the closing </li> can be omitted from lists and <li> barely a step over using - for bullet

I don’t mind Go’s error handling a single bit. Reducing 3 lines to 1 line is hardly a win because people will still complain that their code looks bloated. I’m not against more concise error handling I just don’t like any of the current sol

You could have put it in a less sarcastic way. I don't see 88MB upfront anymore, because it seems to be lazy loaded (but still very laggy when it does). But it's not wrong to point out that the current UX is not perfect.

SQLite needs this, because changing column types is such a pain in the ass. The answer to "I want to move from INT primary keys to TEXT/UUID, how do I change the column type?" is "just insert the data into the column bec

If you're inserting a lot of data with a high likelihood of conflicts you're probably better off using `INSERT ... SELECT .. WHERE NOT EXISTS` instead, that way you can have gapless sequences. -- Will leave gaps INSERT I

The UI from the screenshots look slick, but I can't help but notice that there is barely any JavaScript listed in the repo. Is this a primarily server-side rendered UI?

Why does it kill you? A NULL in a row is semantically identical to the row never existing in the first place, unless there is some other non-null column (the primary key) that lets you disambiguate between the two cases. It's hardly a
