Probably some bad things, over the years certain project details have leaked right before the keynote (such as ATI pre-announcing a hardware release) and finding Apple switching to NVIDIA for the next few years.

I'm sure they will in 5-10 years. The ebook/ereader market is rather 'new' compared to the digital audio market, at this point everyone has likely already purchased a digital version of their music or pirated it so there won't be any lost

The Verge played with the Ubuntu phone and while it's a dev release at this point, you can see from the video it's painfully slow on the latest hardware for UI things: http://www.theverge.com/2013/1/2/3828266/ubuntu-phone-os-han...

I don't believe there's anything stopping you from building or finding a network diagnostic app that will let you ping/trace/etc considering there are SSH clients.

I'm not so sure if accepting it is the right term, they just don't care or even understand the concept of something else. It's sort of like how privacy isn't a concern/issue for this latest generation that is getting online.

When scraping HTML where data gets populated with js/ajax, you can get a web inspector to look at where that data is coming from and manually GET it and it will likely be in some nice JSON. Scraping used to be the way to get data back in th

It doesn't really matter, it's a research project. And second of all your statement that nothing was compatible with the Intel switch is completely false. PPC binaries worked just fine for years. Lastly, there aren't any plans to switch

It seems finally the green maximize button no longer toggles the mini player mode and actually does what it's supposed to do.

Oh right, scabble is the only thing tablets or iPads are good for. The rest of your thoughts were spot on, but you sort of went the troll route at the end.

my Chrome in OSX was reporting 240,000 objects on screen at 30FPS. maybe there's just some bug in Chrome? This is on a i5 2500k @ 4.2Ghz with an Nvidia 670.

If it were to happen today or in the near future, there would barely be any games for it, and nothing too interesting that would make people want to buy one. Only Valve's recent games would be ported to Linux while almost all third party

I put on 40 pounds in my 3 years at a .com startup between 2000-2003 mostly because of the free soda machines (and i hadn't switched to diet soda yet) and free junk food vending machines on each floor. there wasn't any fruit ever. i thi

Everything coming out now went through him, do you think it really takes a year to develop products? The maps team had been working on the new maps for years. I guess Apple should have invented warp drive in the last year too.

Your comment would be valid if they actually did try and make money off it, but they're likely going to lose some sales. You probably are missing something if you also think he was just a former CEO, he was a bit more than that to Apple.

I was hoping to read some real details instead of a simple paragraph and this tool. My opinion is that if you're a startup and you hire some people that don't get a share in the company, you're going to have to likely pay them a decent sa

in 1999 Linux wasn't really used for big production, but sometime around then the .com/linux bubble happened with a lot of companies selling/using linux as their main product (VALinux/Akamai/Redhat/many others).
