I think it is sort of a play on words. Since runc is written in go and is slower, crun is written in c and is faster. Stupid nerd joke I know.

Under the covers, both podman AND docker use runc. Redhat is writing a new version named "crun" which is lower overhead and faster: https://github.com/containers/crun

podman 3.x natively supports docker-compose, but it requires running a podman daemon and has the same drawbacks as docker: https://www.redhat.com/sysadmin/podman-docker-compose That says, you literally can use the same

You can run podman as root, but it doesn't default to it, for generally sensible security reasons. Also, docker runs as root, so it won't have permissions problems. You can change the permissions of /dev/fuse if you want

CUDA is primarily developed for Linux. You’re showing me that you totally misunderstand the problem by assuming Nvidia doesn’t build these GPUs for Linux. There is a reason that Nvidia gpus + Linux servers top the top 500 supercomputer list

Nvidia treats Linux as a first class citizen. In fact, the CUDA stuff on Linux is industry leading. As a result, machine learning on Nvidia is really good. I work with Nick Wilt, the author of the book on CUDA. Nvidia on Linux is amazing. N

That part I entirely agree with you on. I just wanted to point out that the practice of selling flow to companies who do really good execution is commonplace and sort of expected. I’d bet 10,000 robinhood could never build trade execution a

Solana seems like a better fit for DeFi than ETH. It is also much higher performance, which is very important for DeFi. Disclaimer: I don't hold solana or ETH.

Australia (as an example) has hard speed limits. If you go over their speed limits by 1kph (kilometers), you can get a ticket and they put speeding cameras in abandoned prop cars on roads to catch speeders. I learned this from a coworker wh

You can happily set the autopilot speed to above the speed limit. There are a few gotchas and it won’t always let you, but in general, it is fine. I normally set it to 10% higher than the posted speed limit as an example.
