I honestly think the defaults were made bad on purpose to force people to learn how to configure it.

One thing I wonder: does let take types? Something like: (let ((x :string "hello")) (fmt.Println (+ x "owickstrom"))) (Although in that case the type can probably be infered...)

I am sure Kashmir is a great idea - in fact, I was wondering why there couldn't be a typed lisp compiling to C, but please put more coding example!

One thing that people forgot to mention is that Paul Graham was a Lisp expert before he started Viaweb - he had already written _On_Lisp_ which is still considered as one of the references to learn Common Lisp - and probably Robert Morris w

I don't think any secret service could prevent any isolated individual to make at home, say, Molotov cocktails, and throw them by car in a crowd.

Good point, I haven't really thought the Python example through. I can't find a quick fix now, so I leave it as an illustrative code (even that failing code is an inferior version of the macro, so...).

Whenever I think of Ramanujan I wonder if he would get founding at this time. I personally doubt someone so much ahead of his time would.
