Underscore, a Friend Indeed Use _var and __var in identifiers. Even better when it's sometimes __ and sometimes ___ - you can never tell which it is at a glance. (Python is great for this one!)

There's a big difference between talking through an interview for an hour with some questions on how they'll handle a code base with maybe a function or two here and there to demonstrate, and the following: > LD: "Well, I

Surely the disagreement should be obvious? If they interview 50 candidates and get each candidate to do a free day of work, they're exploiting the candidates and the market. As others have said, there is no reason not to let the candid

It's a good thing for the startup, sure. But it's definitely a very bad thing for a third party choosing to use nodejs as a critical part of their infrastructure. You guys might take nodejs off on a direction that is beneficial to

Dart is very close to Java but with a number of language features altered to be closer to matching web APIs and for easier trans-compilation to Javascript. So Notch using Dart isn't very unlikely if he already liked Java.

Isn't that just failing to listen to the customers you talked to? As in, they got half of it right - they talked to customers. They just didn't get the listening part right. In the case of wearable computing, customers didn't

I disagree here - you've either lost the data or you haven't. You can make guesses as to the expected resources of the attacker, but if you're wrong and the attacker has more resources, then you might as well have not even bo

Agree completely. Basic little 3D engine is easy to do because it's been done so many times before. Any of the complexities are well known and it's not like Notch hasn't made a similar block based 3d engine before. The author

Having these kinds of rules on bug bounty programs is excellent for hackers though. If I wanted to hack Prezi I now have a lot of very useful information. 1) Prezi is not interested in blocking access to people who already have the ID of th

You can definitely get away with traversals - and they are often required. The simplest method would be to use a sorted list. The head of the list is always the best price, so comparing the best bid against the best offer is linear and can

You're going to use escrow for all of your transactions? There is no way the general public is going to do that. I think even those who are more paranoid would give up the attempt after using escrow to do transactions after a few month

You can do a perfectly seeming legal transactions with an entity that ends up being smoke and mirrors. In the case of real currency, the amount would need to be transferred through banks which can be investigated for crimes by authorities.

Even using bitcoins for legal things leaves you little recourse - this is the whole point of bitcoin. When you avoid government regulation and oversight you also avoid the protections it gives - this should hopefully be obvious to anyone.

I saw the problem in FF too. I checked it out in Chrome though and it looks much better - the aliasing effect is much less noticeable and performance is better. I'd guess it isn't properly optimized for FF somehow.

I don't use PHP much - but if you're making a website, why is being able to do things other than make websites important? I wouldn't use Ruby or Python to make desktop or mobile apps anyway.
