Mojang was bought with money that can't easily be repatriated. Same as Skype, which was purchased with dead money.

You guys should watch how it's made. Modern cars are dipped to get the "primer", then shot with a single coat of color/clear, and dried in an oven. It's been that way since at least the early 90s. Here's an exa

As I said the very sentence before, the goal was a smooth integration, but your mileage my vary. Restated, I know it ended up sucking, but that wasn't the goal.

Once you get above about a million files on NTFS, life becomes very slow. If you use a DVCS and check out a bunch of projects with a bunch of history, you can easily get to a point where you can't do too much with the drive. This was t

There was more to the Skylight rebrand than Live. The idea was to bind the services to the Windows brand, a strong brand in the US, instead of MSN, which is a stronger brand outside the US. Also, the integration was tighter, so the experien

For the infrequency of use, and the cost, I agree. A home brake wouldn't be impossible to buy (just a couple hundred dollars) but they're huge and not very useful. http://www.harborfreight.com/36-inch-metal-brake-w

I worked on a few features in MSN Messenger, and I'm sad to see it pass, but the time had come. I hadn't logged in to use it for almost five years when it was shut off in the US.

I worked at MSN in WAN-OPS in the 90s. We did exactly that: find out what ma-and-pa ISPs we were paying transit for, offer to run a T1 directly to them for all MSCOM/MSN traffic. Easiest sales call ever.
